I guess to get a QDC permit one needs a letter from the employer and employers for sure know the religion of the individuals and do not (or may not) issue any such letter to them. I have a Malaysian colleague who cannot get QDC permit for the same reason. Can't say if this applies across the board though.

Anyways, I am given to understand that everything is fine until someone makes noise...so no noise, no harm done.
