YEs, you dont know. We muslims have a complete code of life from the example of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He taught us everything from sleeping, cleanliness, eating, dressing, working, having good manners, etc. Not because humans are ignorant and cant understand these things themselves, but because we naturally follow role models and he is the best role model.

Actually, God spoke to several people and He sent many Messengers and prophets. There were 124,000 Prophets and 315 Messengers
And we believe every nation was sent a messenger. He was sent to show them the correct path and teach them the way to salvation
And we have many teachings of the older prophets in our books. What you perhaps didnt understand is that all the prophets and messengers sent had the same message. Their laws slightly differed at times (due to specific circumstances) however the main part was the same.
There are many teachings that were passed down, like the ritual of Hajj, circumcision, fasting, Prayer, ablution, etc
The Qu'raan mentions around 25 Prophet's by names and as Muslims, we dont only study their lives, but we use them as lessons. We have stories from the Adam, Moses, Joseph, Jesus, Zakariyyah, Jonah, Lot, etc.
