It really isn't as bad as it used to be, honest!  Even in Doha it seems less now (probably because of the fines threatened if you use the horn unnecessarily).

What I DO recall is when I got home from Jeddah and was sitting at traffic lights in the UK.   The lights changed to green, I put my car in gear to move off and the bloke (probably was a man) behind me leant on the horn .... I almost got out of my car and punched him!

I didn't realise just how much in denial I was, having lived with horns honking right left and centre around me in Jeddah, without being able to react, until that moment.

 

Well, there were other moments, but that was just one.
