Don't think that the whole country comes to a standstill just because we are fasting. All the shops are open. They only close just before sunset and will open later on. And then they will be open until midnight. Anyway, most supermarkets will put a note up to announce their opening times. Yes, most restaurants are closed during the day, but then most hotels will have an area, hidden from open view, where they will serve food.He will definately not starve. Offices are open and business is not really like usual, more on a slower tempo. But then again, this depends on the type of business you are dealing with. Some shops (not foodshops) will be closed in the afternoon and open around 7/8pm and then stay open late. And if you drive around Doha at midnight it will be so crowed on the streets, that you think it is during the day. Nothing to fear or worry about. Business as usual!
