Apparently John Glenn who made them in his back-yard in Bristol had contacts in the MoD.
The club disintegrated in the early 90's as many members left and the cost of running the Trans-Q became higher even with BA sponsoring teams.
I think the most yachts we ever had in the Trans-Q was 34. That number included the guy who took over making the Glenn Class V's in New Zealand. The weak spot on them was where the main frame bent to accommodate the mast. They regularly required brazing.
I actually left two yachts and 5 sails (BA, Hempel and Jaguar) in Rabban-B villas when we moved to Ghanim Gardens.I don't know what happened to them.
