Having had a couple of spells with DAGOC and seen the effort that has gone into these games and having seen how Qatar has developed since my initial arrival in 1982. The Olympics are much further away than 10 to 15 years.
Even to host the Asian Games, a country is supposed to have a population of 2 million. I leave it to you to guess how Qatar "got" the games.
There are many countries that will qualify to host the Olympics before Qatar. Taking into account that the Olympics are held only every 4 years, I refer you to a comment made earlier about 1,000 years.
I await with interest the post games review made by all involved including the OCA, other countries, athletes and media personnel.
