well If dey(DOHA FAN'S GUESTS AND OTHERS 2) really wanna hav som fun then (i prefer)they should stay here during the Eid. from jan 10. coz qatar tourism authority is organising a series of events and programmmes for the 5 days of eid. they told in the news paper(gulf times Published: Thursday, 29 December, 2005, 10:58 AM Doha Time) that SOME OF THE PROGRAMMES THAT WILL BE ORGANISED WILL BE SEEN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MIDDLE EAST OVER THE FIVE DAYS. i wen thro deir archives and found out abt these events-
1.astounding forts and citadels will be crafted into a complete sand city
2.breathtaking water stunts and acrobatics by the legendary Stars of Florida professionals, flame throwers and fire dancers, to dazzling snowboard and ski shows in a below-zero temperature snow city
3. centrepiece of this year’s entertainment will be the Space Voyageur. Located next to the Diplomatic Club, this discovery journey through space will allow visitors the opportunity to learn and experience every aspect of the universe and space travel. All visitors to the Space Dome and its satellite zones at Space Voyageur will be greeted with interactive displays and simulated space flights, sound and visual presentations, mazes and exhibitions. The Space Voyager will be open from 3.30pm to 10.30pm.
4. qatar heritage village(corniche) will provide a trip back in time thro wich Visitors will be able to learn about Qatari arts and crafts and experience the best of Qatari cuisine and hospitality
5.Folkloric displays, multimedia soundscape shows, interactive children’s plays, creative workshops, comedy acts and street-performers
6.For the first time in Doha, a spectacular snow city with skiing slopes and snow zones is to be designed. Professional skiers will also hold performances
7.Fireworks will be held daily at 5.30pm beside the Diplomatic Club, and on the Corniche between 7pm and 7.30pm. The skies will also be lit up on the first day of Eid at Al-Khor and Al-Wakrah between 3.30pm and 10.30pm.
8.Eastern-Arabic folklore acts and dances will be performed by the Lebanese dance group Rajana Veda
VENUES: mallS, the Corniche, the zoo, Rumaillah Park and the Diplomatic Club. events will ALSO be held at Al-Khor and Al-Wakrah
