Two expats among three dead in road accident on Al Kharara Highway
Just after Qatar’s statistics agency published reports that accidents in the country are at a new low, another tragedy has struck.
This time around, two Asian expatriates were among three people killed in an accident on Al Kharara Highway.
The accident occurred at around 10pm on Friday when two cars collided with each other on the way from Abu Samra to Al Kharara area, GDN Online reported.
As the driver of one of the two cars stepped down to check the damage, an oncoming car hit him so violently that he died instantly, reported local Arabic daily Al Raya.
The third person who died in the accident was an Arab national and the driver of the third car was injured as his vehicle overturned several times.
too often i look in my rear view mirror and instead of seeing a road with cars i see the grill of a 4 wheeler. tail gating, racing, illegal turns, lack of lane discipline, can all be seen too often.
Its not a unicorn we're looking for here - this is 90% of the 4 wheelers and some 40% of sedans on the road.
I dont like to generalize but its almost always true..
How was the 1st person killed out of the 2 Asians? Does the Arab national a Qatari? So he is not an EXPAT? Why the 3rd car has not slow down when there was an accident?
More questions aroused.
Anyhow. Rest in peace. Condolence to the family.
Great article with no real explanation of how initial the accident occured
Reckless Speed is visible while traveling on Qatar's highways of Salwa Road, Dukhan Road, Umbab Road, Shumal Road and Mesaieed road etc.
The max. speed on these roads is 120/kph, but you would see, every 2nd car traveling at 150/kph.
This kind of unchecked speed is a license to kill the people. Mobile radar checking is what can make the difference on these roads. Standing radars are a little help.
Therefore there is a need to put up the drone surveillance on these highways in order to help the man kind save from this high speed menace and killing machines.
