Noise after jackwash- 2006 Pajero

I did a jackwash(also inside bonnet) for my 2006 pajero

from next day a noise started from engine

Today I went to Mitsubishi service center, they told me that wearing belt has to be replaced ansd its cost around 1200?

Does anybody know about it

Is this due to washing this sound started?

I don't believe the Pajero has a carburettor. You will nevertheless have to get the belt replaced.
