This protects the consumer from inflated prices (and collution amongst auto dealers). I'm sure this will eventually become common practice here, but one does wonder about the standard for car prices here...
I have been looking for cars recently and I haven't noticed a drop in prices. In one case, at the Chevrolet dealership, they actually raised the price of the 2008s and offered a gas credit card instead...
