ik this is thirteen years old but this is for anyone surfing the internet in the future in hopes of a comparison of the two schools. I can’t speak all that much on Qatar Academy, but what I can say is that I know many students who switched from QA to ASD, but not many vice versa. ASD is ranked as the best school in Qatar, from its incredibly good facilities to its trained teachers. It now offers both the AP and IB curriculums and although it’s certified in New England, I know many graduates who have gone to schools in TX and other states and it didn’t prove to be a problem. if you’re looking for top quality education with lots of options, ASD is for you, and no other schools in the country can really compare in that respect. I’m pretty it offers the most AP classes in Qatar too. some graduates have gone to Ivy leagues and other schools of that caliber, such as Stanford. it’s competitive pursuits, both physical and academic, have often resulted on success, both within the country and the region. that being said, it has its flaws. there is no mental health support for students, the world languages are terrible (except if you’re a native Arabic speaker bc they split the natives and non-natives), there is a lot of racial and religious insensitivity from teachers, and the administration is not very flexible. however, I’m sure it’s worse at other schools in Qatar.
