A great act on the part of the parents. Their action though it may have been very difficult for them to take, may have saved many lives and property. Had the parents reprimanded her, she would have simply brushed it off saying that she was already 18 and was responsible for her actions. The arrest and a fine would probably send a clear message to the teenager of things she just can't do.
