As you know the flat-nosed (brachycephalic) dogs are prone to dehydration. I thought that this was the reason why some airlines will not transfer them. From the airline perspective they want a dog that can be treated as cargo - ie. survive with no food or water during transport, and a dog that isn't so big and aggressive that it might smash its cage and run havoc in the cargo hold (apparently has happened b4).

I'd like to move my french bulldogs to Doha, but if they went in cargo they I suspect they wouldn't survive the trip. If they were stuck for an hour on the tarmac in 40 degree heat, they'd be finished for sure.

I'll be looking for a good pet travel service - did you find one (AOWN)?
