B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology. In India, B.Tech is a 4 year course that covers pretty much the basics of all fields of engineering in the first year and concentrates on one's chosen field of engineering on the second, third and fourth year. In the final year, you have to do an engineering project and submit a thesis. In India, a B.Tech holder is an engineer. Period.
