B.Tech is 'Bachelor of Technician'
According to certain rumors, B.Tech is no longer considered as an engineering degree. Is this true? I don't know about other countries, but in India there is essentially no difference between B.Tech and B.E. Both are considered engineering degrees. According to what I hear, Qatari officials now deem that B.Tech holders are nothing more than technicians! In the words of one official, "B.Tech is Bachelor of Technician".
Svelte_saggi....after a long time...how r u and howz ur cousin Shwetha doing???
This doesn't affect me personally as my degree is B.E. My company is, however, trying to hire engineers. It's frustrating to see perfectly capable and qualified engineers being refused engineers visa due to the ignorance of government officials.
wrong title of the course, all related to engineering cources must have "ENGINNERING" at the end of any engineering cources. TECHNOLOGY is broad meaning it can be covered the engineering cources but by leteral meaning is not leading to field of engineering. In Phils even you are graduated from 5 yrs course of any field of engineering, you can't be called engineer when you'll not pass the BOARD EXAMS.
yup...being nice has started to feel nice lately.
Svelte nice to see you nice!
hahaha! Bachelor 'OF' Technician! thank God for my B.E. degree! phew! :P
B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology. In India, B.Tech is a 4 year course that covers pretty much the basics of all fields of engineering in the first year and concentrates on one's chosen field of engineering on the second, third and fourth year. In the final year, you have to do an engineering project and submit a thesis. In India, a B.Tech holder is an engineer. Period.
Did you ask what is the qualification of that Official?
In the UK
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is a vocational qualification taken in England and Wales and Northern Ireland by people aged 16 and over. The qualification is organised and awarded by the Edexcel Foundation within the BTEC brand. BTEC ND is equal to three A-Levels.
Not sure what it means in other part of the world!
