All the cars I've used both in Qatar and Saudi Arabia I brought them in from the U.S. myself, it's cheaper if you know what you are doing. If the car your are bringing in is around 3 years old and in perfect condition then go ahead and bring it it after doing your maths.
Never mind the old wives that say cars from America cannot cope with the hot conditions here, the hottest temperature reading any where in the world for 2012 was recorded in the U.S. (California's Death Valley) and American cars run well there and similar hot places like Texas, Nevada, New Mexico etc, and no car is manufactured in Qatar anyways, even the new ones were imported.
You need to be cautious with European cars because Europe is generally cooler, however, if the Yaris and the Accents are running here in the Gulf I can't imagine which modern car wont. If you service your car regularly, put coolant in the radiator as at when due and generally never maltreat the car you should be fine.
As far as warranty goes if your car is over 2 years old you are probably out of warranty anyways so who cares for warranty service by the local dealers. The same thing applies for parts, if you stick to the popular brands you will find parts quite easily.
If you are buying a new car here in the Gulf then go ahead, the car dealers will eat more than normal off you but it's passable, however, I will never advise anyone to buy a used car here in the Gulf, there's a very high percentage chance that you are buying a a basket of troubles.
