i did manage to get permission last year to bring my ten year old car in from bahrain..did not actually bring it in but they did allow me..was a long winded process..they first refused, but i told them i loved my car and it meant a lot to me..that worked to melt their hearts haha..just an ordinary expat with no connections but since the car had sentimental value, i did it..just to give you an idea, you will be dealing with customs, ministry of business & trade, ministry of environment, the traffic department and whoever else they think you need to meet..also you will be bouncing around these ministries a couple of times until everything is sorted..the people are helpful enough though and if you love your car enough, it will be worth it..best of luck:-)
