I have a number of friends from the UK, other parts of Europe and a few from Australia and US, and each has their own sense of humour. While, it is much easier to retort to and understand their humour in a direct conversation, most would look offensive while reading the written word.

I always believe that the written word doesn't convey emotions and it is very easy to reciprocate hatefully. That being said, there is a lot of unnecessary provocation at times which is difficult to digest for the more educated, literate and travelled Easterner.
