Fake officials try to trick Khor resident

A mail is being circulated widely among residents in which a person, presumably staying in a compound in Al Khor, is asking the public to be wary of a group, whose members are alleged to pose as employees of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and are allegedly involved in possible robberies.
A Kahramaa official clarified that no one has so far brought any such incident to the corporation’s notice.
In the mail, the individual, apparently from a South East Asian nation claims that two individuals reportedly knocked on his door and told his wife, who was alone at that time, that they had come from Kahramaa to replace the bulbs with energy saving ones, free of cost.“However, having come to learn about the presence of such a group in the area a few days ago, I had told my wife to be careful. So she refused to open the door and informed the compound security and me. Even though we managed to reach the house in about five minutes, the duo had somehow absconded from the place,” he writes in the mail.
According to the person, the group had allegedly managed to access other houses and, after brandishing weapons, escaped with valuables, including money, jewellery, crystal and other things.According to information provided by the expatriate, at least seven houses in Al Khor and surroundings have been burgled.
