Ladies & Gents

Few days ago i got a broadcast that there are 3 – 4 men coming to houses informing the tenants that we are from kahramaa and coming to change the Doush and electric bulbs in order to save electricity, so they come into your house they take out weapons and steels everything you have (money, jewellery, crystal and other things they might like). Till now 7 houses were stolen at Alkhore.

In fact I didn’t believe it till an hour ago when 2 men came to my house knocked the door on my wife and told her we are from KM coming to change the Bulbs for free please give us way. She was shocked because i told her the story 2 days ago so she didn’t open in fact she called me and called the building guard to come we both reached in aprox 5 minutes they were away and we didn’t find them in the building.

So just be careful and inform your kids and wives to also be careful.

DONT OPEN THE DOOR FOR ANYONE. ITS NO MORE SAFE LIKE BEFORE.

Fake officials try to trick Khor resident

A mail is being circulated widely among residents in which a person, presumably staying in a compound in Al Khor, is asking the public to be wary of a group, whose members are alleged to pose as employees of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and are allegedly involved in possible robberies.

A Kahramaa official clarified that no one has so far brought any such incident to the corporation’s notice.

In the mail, the individual, apparently from a South East Asian nation claims that two individuals reportedly knocked on his door and told his wife, who was alone at that time, that they had come from Kahramaa to replace the bulbs with energy saving ones, free of cost.“However, having come to learn about the presence of such a group in the area a few days ago, I had told my wife to be careful. So she refused to open the door and informed the compound security and me. Even though we managed to reach the house in about five minutes, the duo had somehow absconded from the place,” he writes in the mail.

According to the person, the group had allegedly managed to access other houses and, after brandishing weapons, escaped with valuables, including money, jewellery, crystal and other things.According to information provided by the expatriate, at least seven houses in Al Khor and surroundings have been burgled.

Yeah, that letter is also circulating in our office email.

Well, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Some syndicate are changing/improvising their tactics just to take advantage of other people.

Beware and be aware always.

Is it healthy to carry [ a bunch of keys ] 250 grams of metal on your body for 9 - 10 hours a day / for long 60 years which is to be used for the 3 second at end of the day ?

Ok, I agree with you but not sure what chota_sanki has to say ?

In case of flats , it is going to be really tough for some, through the balconies ???

''.........DONT OPEN THE DOOR FOR ANYONE...'

Is it that what I read ?

And you are telling this to 'kids & wives'.

Look again, who is going to be punished, my friend ?

How the tired fathers & husbands will enter their own houses in the evening ?

God bless all !!

Scary stuff. Thanks for the warning PP. Will spread the word. Personally, I never open the door for any unknown person. No matter what they say! far too risky a thing for a lone woman to do in any part of the world.

How naive you are youngling. The reason it is not in the press is that they did not want the criminals to know that the police and CID are on to them, thus giving them the opportunity to skip the country or go into hiding.
