Blame the western ideal of materialism and commend the fatalistic acceptance of “ones lot” of my eastern colleagues. Rightly or wrongly, I am making a judgment that the person you are referring to has eastern cultural heritage or background. Not being judgmental and each to their own way I feel there is lack of imagination if someone can accept ad-infinitum the same routine either in their own life or their surroundings.
