Jem, you mix the things! You try to compare the expats in Qatar with the immigrants and citizens in Canada. THEY ARE NOT COMPARABLE!

I understand you have no clue, where you live now! So at least TRUST those who DOES live here, and who understands the rules and regulations! WE ARE NOT HOME HERE! THIS IS NOT OUR COUNTRY! You like it or not. It is writen everywhere! Including in our visas; each of them contains word "VISIT", whether it is a tourist, or family, or business, or even Work visa. WE ARE VISITORS HERE! We are brought here for the certain period of time, we signed the contract, and we work until sent back home! We haven't IMMIGRATED in here! Try to understand it again, and do not compare our status here with our status in our home countries! HOW YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND THAT??

You say "the Arabians own this country outright and it is their country so they can do whatever they want!!!!  How passive are you people here? ".. Listen! This is a dangerous appeal!!

1.Guess what, it is not ARABIANS who own this country, it is QATARIS who own this country. You sound very illiterate mixing all "arabians", and writing Qatarians instead of Qataris.
2. Guess what, YES, they can obviously do whatever they want in their country!

3. Guess what, we are here for WORK only, and we have no legal rights to change the rules or regulations on this country, or even to participate in any discussion on this subject. We have no any intentions to do it either! Exactly as non-citizens in any country, including CANADA, have NO rights to vote or to impact in any possible way on the political and economical system in the country! You say you are highly educated. How come, you cannot understand such obvious things?

4. Guess what, your "How passive are you people here?"  sounds like direct call to rebellion..

so you better calm down. Think wiht very very open mind, since you are so highly edicated. Try to imagine, that you are in completely different world with completely different rules. Nobody say, it is better or worse, it is just different! So simply STOP comparing this world to any other world that you know. It is DIFFERENT anyway!

And try to understand that NIGERIAN VISAS ARE TIGHTLY RESTRICTED IN QATAR! And it's not up to us to change it! Sorry for saying it, but you are NOBODY to dictate to Qataris how to rule their own country!

And alcohol isn't banned in an entire country. You again mixing it, with probably Saudi Arabia. Unless it's a Ramadan time, I personally consume alcohol at least once a month in Qatar, totally legally. So how come it's "banned in an entire country" ?

And again, I personally want to know HOW your lovely husband has penetrated into Qatar? WHERE and HOW has he BOUGHT his illegal visa?
