I had a lovely pakistani friend at uni (female) her parents didn't like her having friends who were not of 'her background'. That made her embarassed and I was idignant. You take the passport but don't want to mix?
That is wrong. Preserving ethnic identity is one thing but refusing to mix is just plain racism.
