Sadly, the status of sewage system is really degraded in many neighborhoods across Doha due to the sudden increase of population. Although, the public work Authority (Ashgal) have signed many contracts to upgrade the drainage system in many areas, work apparently have not started due to difficulty to obtain Road openings which would cause traffic in already congested areas.
I think a permanent solution would be that the government take lands in highly populated areas under Eminent domain to be utilized for utilities instead of the continues road openings on high traffic roads
