I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer.
I am in the process of getting together a list of components to assemble a well specified machine to run FSX and DCS A-10 smoothly on high settings, with the option for multi display and 3D support.
I was leaning towards the GTX 470 series but many reviews pointed out the heat, noise and power consumption issues. A bit more research brought me to the Radeon HD 5870 and the newer HD 6870. Both have built in eyefinity so that takes care of my multi display need.
My question is, does the HD 5870 support 3D games or is this only available in the new 6 series ?
From your experience, would I be fine choosing the HD 6870 or the HD 5870 ?
For information, the other components hat I have shortlisted so far are:
