very interesting discussion is going on here...my opinion, it should be correlated to the joining mode of group, if it is OPEN, then anyone should be allowed to comment in it, if it needs a request for joining, then first join the group to be able to comment in it.
Moreover it’s indeed a useful suggestion to give Group Manger rights to edit and delete comments in the threads under the group
