Cudnt even sleep yesterday night since my girl goes to the same school in KG2...cant imagine what the girl went through. Was at the school for PTA last week and is really upset with the school building. It is dangerous to accommodative so many children in such pathetic cabins. Cant even do a proper evacuation in case of a rescue and the porta cabins is not at all safe in any aspect.
Really the Principal and teachers are good and do their best to manage with the limited funds but it is the top management people who are just money miners. There should be some real good action against them for being so irresponsible, failing to set standards for their bus services and running a school in such buildings...class strength has gone from 26 average to up to 47 in some classes. Kids are forced to bring in desks from other classes and shift classes for language hours. and they sit so cramped on tiny benches and desks, even in higher grades. The window ACs are not working properly and is not sufficient in the ambient conditions..and it was hot even during the night, dont know how they expect kids to survive through the noon hours.
It is high time some standards be set for schools in Qatar. It is some young lives at stake and the parents pay more than they can really afford to ensure their kids the best. Still this is what we get.
