Uncivilized men do not know how to behave infront of the opposite sex.
But see Nic there will always be a risk when there is mixing between genders at schools, universities, work places, ...etc.
In Arabic we have a very common saying which means:
A must see worse or A worse that can not be avoided.
Again I will speak from the Islamic prespective, it is the belief which protects the man or woman when there is mixing.
It is the responsibility of every one to know to be more civilized person.
There is also another Arabic saying which I would like to share,
Do not be soft so you will be squeezed, and do not be hard so you will be broken.

So Nic it is always good to be in the middle between soft and hard.
