Although I've been reading QL for a while, this is my first post. I've debated this subject many times with my friends, so I thought I'd speak up.

Either:

a) The moon landing happened as reported, or

b) The U.S. government pulled off a huge conspiracy and has kept the thousands of the scientists, artists, production engineers, camera operators, actors, lighting designers, set builders, etc. necessary to pull off the hoax silent for the last 40 years.

Members of the U.S. government can't even keep information about their extra-marital affairs from leaking out. It would be far easier to go to the moon than successfully orchestrate such an elaborate hoax.

As for the radiation argument, the astronauts were only in the highly radioactive Van Allen belts for an hour or so. Radiation will be a problem on longer trips, but for the relatively short trip to the moon and back, the astronauts were only exposed to 1 percent of a lethal dose of radiation.

Anyway, it's good to be on QL. It looks like you all get into some good discussions.
