Well, when it comes to hitting back at those who insult Islam, the opposite is a majority. Muslims strongly believe that Islam is a devine religion and all aspects of it are devine. Why not others respect their sentiments and just let them live with their belief? Atheists maybe rational, but they never go to religious shrines, never spend time in God's remembrence, how will they know the importance of spirituality in life. Bashing everything that doesn't fit logic is their job. I would advice them to understand people by being part of them not judging them from your own angle.
