I have seen the figures for both sides. It's about 10 Palestinians killed for every Israeli. Who is responsible? Well, I'm not a big fan of the "they made me do it" defense. We are all responsible for our own actions. As adults we act, not react. I find that most Palestinians agree with this. As I said, I have lived there, I believe I know a bit about the culture and people. And I find much less hatred for Israel among the Palestinians who live in the West Bank than has been articulated by many in the wider world. I cannot speak for Gaza, however. I hear from those at Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Their words reflect bewilderment, not murderous hostility. Again, I find people who live in Palestine much more tolerant than many who speak for them. Funny, isn't it?
