the-birdie, arien - you're missing the point. It's not about sacrificing security for convenience. The security check that has been removed was pointless. That's why it's been removed. All it did was stop people taking illegal items from one side of the check-in area to the other.

I'm all for having all the necessary security measures. That's why I pointed out earlier how useless security is at Doha airport. But I can also see that the check that has been removed made no difference to anything.

Please explain what part of this is elitist and nonsense.
