David Banner may not have phrased his argument very diplomatically, and he won't get any converts to his cause by insulting people, but he is correct nevertheless.
I'm going to quote Alexa's post:
"Ok..let me ask you all this...have any of you worked in an equal opportunity(meaning ALL people get the same pay, no matter what nationality they are)company?
Let me tell you what happens...let us say, a Westerner has a superior from the sub continent, and he has colleagues who 'incidentally" come from the same place...what happens is this...this Westerners life at work is made very difficult....for different reasons...a. the others have not much of an idea what they are doing, when the Westerner tries to help out, he is regarded as"disturbing, know it all, arrogant.
b. they want him out, so they can give his job to a compatriot, who is not intent on doing what needs to be done, as he, also , has no clue.
c. They are peeved, because at a certain point the Westerner has had it, and goes to the big boss, because he actually is getting in trouble because the work does not get done.
d. sh i t hits the fan, because the big boss is also a 'compatriot
e. the Westerner quits, gets another job,one without "compatriots"....
Oh...and all the compatriots have resumees full of titles etc......lol"
Alexa's absolutely right, and I know this because I had two years of similar experience working for one of the major oil & gas companies here.
What she did not mention is that while these guys obstruct, distract and generally try to screw you at every opportunity, they also try to pick your brains for any information they may be able to use in the future!
My misfortune was at the hands of the 'Indian Mafia', which is very real and is well known to all who have ever worked in one of the major oil & gas operators here.
I cannot speak of other races who may be involved in similar activities.
