Actually Re-incarnation/Re-birth, transmigration of Atman(loosely translated as soul in English) is often attributed to Hinduism...which is not totally true.
Re-incarnation is often assumed as PHYSICAL re-appearance of materialistic body, on contrary Vedanta of Hinduism as well as Budhism and Jainism do not give any importance to physical or materialistic form of so called "re-incarnation".
Moreover, the word "soul" itself is a borrowed word from Abrahamic monotheistic-dualist belief systems (Islam-Christianity-Judaism) which indicates a "seperate" entity soul, therefore people look through this prism.
While Dharmic philosophies like Vedanta of Hinduism, Budhism/Jainism and their concept of re-incarnation or Atman-Brahman relation revolves around LEVEL OF CONCIOUSNESS. In true sense it hardly gives importance to materialistic or seperate "entity" perceived as soul.
