What an irresponsible woman. Tallg, I'm not so sure if authorities would act as you say in the UK or US for that matter. I remember watching a programme recently about parents in the who left their children in a car and the children died of suffocation. The parents (three separate families) were not punished for doing this and went on to have more children.
So fortunate for the baby concerned that someone was quick thinking.
It should indeed be a crime as at best it is negligence.
