As a bastion and cradle of civilization it has seen people come from all parts of the world, settle in and assimilate...jews would be included in that group too.....the problem arises if a group comes along that does not WANT to assimilate....insist that some old scrolls gives them rights to these lands because their god promises it...and don't want to share.....THAT is not taught in any history books in the west but it cetainly puts a different spin on things doesn't it?
