The non residency is as simple as filling out a form for CCRA.....the ties to Canada is tricky.

CCRA in the past has ruled that people that still could come back to Canada at a moments notice were not really non residents...and made them pay taxes...in your case, best to see a professional accountant's help and maybe seek a ruling from CCRA before you depart!
