I find that most clinicians here misuse and abuse the use of diagnostic tests, either for money-making or incompetence lacking clinical skills in arriving to a sensible diagnostic conlusion. Like for example in the case of simple back pain (without history of trauma/spine infection/ ruling out RED FLAGS), how many of you have been referred right away for x-ray or MRI without proper history taking and physical examination by the clinician? and diagnose your problem with the x-ray/MRI findings?? Ridiculous I would say. OK, x-ray result may state degenerative changes etc. or MRI result may state prolapse disc...SO? I can have my spine scanned and have similar results but may have no symptoms at all!!
