Don't get me wrong anyone, I understand that in Islam we are told not to promote another religion by supporting their religious events, but my argument is, what if you celebrate an event for another reason? Not for the religion?
My personal faith is that Allah is mercifull and forgiving. He is also tolerant and accepting. So we should use Allah as the example.
If we aren't supposed to be learning other languages because it's the language of another religion, then why are we speaking english?
I believe peace is through integration not segregation.
To understand different parts of the religion is fine if you want to use past events, but you must also acknowledge that those past acts were respective of it's time.
For example, some Imams say that Music is haram. Some say that only music that incites hate and has bad words or sexual contotations are haram. Some say that it's not Haram it's just makrooh. Some say it's Halal because the athan is in a musical tone.
I guess we just have to follow what he believe in our hearts. I'll do my best to be a good person because I know that God see's within me.
