@red_pope, when I said 'The Christians adopted it', I meant that the Christians of their time accepted it.

So if you, for example, don't accept it as adopted by your religion it wouldn't apply to you. Sorry if I caused offence.

It's like Christmas. It was adopted into Christianity and wasn't an occassion from the begginning.
