Either way, holidays these days are all regarded in the eye of the beholder (does it fit to say that?).

I for one celebrate it just for the sake of showing appreciation and because it can give people smiles. I do not think about St. Valentine at all, nor do I consider the day a homage to him.

And as for the reason why it's not celebrated in Saudi, the main reason is because they didn't want romantic events between men and women and we all know how they love segregation.
