You have nothing to worry if you’re holding your marriage certificate, duly attested by your embassy and MOFA. If you have not done the attestation, it’s imperative to start the process now as this may be a long winding procedure to be initiated in your country of origin. The same document is an essential requirement to apply for passport, birth certificate and visa for newborn.
If you’re a resident of Qatar, the visa sponsorship of your child will be under your name. As far as I know, the minimum salary requirement to sponsor a child will be waived off in case the same child is born here in Qatar.
The only complication I can see is the risk that your wife stays with you considering that she’s holding a household-type visa. Nevertheless, if you came up with mutual arrangement with her visa sponsor, you should worry more about your incoming child pertinent to childbirth preparation and his future. Here in Qatar, the expenses and cost of medicine are quite a burden. We paid almost 300 QAR for 3-day stays in Hamad Hospital and 6 QAR for medicine. Thank God we are away from our country (insert smiley here).
BTW, congratulations for being a father! You should be proud!
