i think the imei number has to do something with it. check the cell phone box you will find 3 small sticker peel one out and take that with the invoice receipt of that cell phone give it to the police. because i heard some where when a person is making call the cell imei number goes along with the call.and that way the thief can be caught too. similar several cases in alsadd has happened when some one is trying to sell out a cell phone the shopkeeper does ask him for the papers.
