Forever doesn't mean forever. You own something for 99 years which is perpetually renewed.

This is called Leasehold. This usually applies to apartments.
Qatar uses Leasehold for all property for foreign investors.

Leasehold contracts can sometimes be as long as 999 years, however 99 years is the international standard.
