Of course I believe it because it is a fact. The Byzanantians, Romans, Persians etc treated their subjects like slaves who endured miserable conditions. Thus when they heard about non-muslims being able to practice their religion, or that non-muslims were protected as Ahul Dimmah who lived as citizens under the rule of Islam, whose properties and land were guaranteed to them etc then many people fled to the Islamic State to seek refuge and ask the Muslims to liberate them form their miserable lives.
Thus it was no surprise that the Christians or Al-Sham fought alongside the Muslims against their own christian brtheren from the west or that some of the prominent legal experts in Islamic law were non muslim, that the jews of Andalus went to modern day Turkey to seek refuge during the Spanish inquisition.
I recommend you read real books of history and non of the orientalist garbage!
