I have been in Doha for 5 years. Yes, they tore down the ras abu aboud overpass to build a new expressway to the airport. BUT I am talking about the new demolition/construction that has only recently occurred. Only recently have they torn out the perfume bottles. And I realize it is for the "progress" of Qatar, but does not make it less heartbreaking. My point is that they should preserve these monuments in same way. Otherwise Doha loses i'ts cultural identity and just becomes another soul less city of the world.
