Welcome, Ashtin. Goodness, that's a lot of questions. Please feel free to browse QL for more answers. Rent in Doha is quite expensive, I would estimate it could run between 12,000 and 20,000 for a nice three room villa in a "good" area. Often an employer will provide it, do check out that possibility. Food is comparable to or less than in the US/Europe. Gas of course is dirt cheap and cars are about the same as everywhere. There are many, many furniture stores. I personally like "The One" and the "Home Center." For other items - sheets, towels, dishes, glassware - I might go to Carrefour. Both Al Ahli Hospital and Hamad have been recommended for maternity care. They each have their own fan club. If yours is a more complicated pregnancy then Hamad may be a more "full service" facility. Good luck and stay in touch!
