the ginger/garlic paste is for women (my mom / sis) who do the cooking with chicken, lamb, etc. I have no hand in that and I would not know on what food items that would apply. I do not mind learning to cook, but since my mom and sis do an extremely good job - why invent the wheel.
Besides can go to my bros' place if and when I feel like a change in dishes. Being the eldest in the family has its advantages. I have three sister-in-laws, from different parts of India, so have a great variety.
