Lets Get United (India & Pakistan)
Whether it's a battle ground, a cricket stadium or a SAARC conference, we've been given impression that pakistanies and indians are great enemies of eachother. BUT since the gov. of Pakistan changed and people of India and Pakistan went across the borders, we found that it's not the people but politics who want to keep the gap among us. But once we are out of our countries and live in a country like Qatar, we try to find someone from our country or continent so we could share our feelings more naturally, and there is no polical impact on people to get united.
When european, american or people from west get united whenever they are away from their homes, why can't people of india & pakistan can do the same?
I wish we could have a forum, a group of people from india and pakistan who do not limit them selve to online community but try to manage to get together once in a while, out children could play together and they learn from eachother.
I'm pakistani, my parents are pakistani, but my grand parents are from india. My wife is pakistani but her parents are from india. Believe me there is no harm to get united!
Looking forward for people to step forward and join hands.

Alright guys, I am gonna make an effort to try and define people who have posted at this thread. No offense meant, just take it in the right spirit. Its supposed to be funny alrite! :P
Let me begin with my real life friends first :
Oldtimer: Mad about sex and women. Reads a lot on this thread but doesn't bother writing. Whenever he does, its hardly anything worthwhile. Wants to own this thread! (Gimme a break!!!)
Motiv8er: Controversy King. Makes a cameo appearance whenever there's a fight happening. Gives his piece of crap and disappears into oblivion. Claims that Nottoknow is his clone. But we all know now who is real clone is!
Neo: Thread creator. Maintains double standards, pretends to be a simple guy, but isn't. Desperate to a certain extent. Can't differenciate real life and QL. Ain't good at taking jokes.
Han: Auntie of QL. Always has an opinion. Internet is her life! She browses QL in logged out mode, just to pretend she isn't online. Her kids are most precious things to her, we barely hear her talking about her hubby. Uses a lot of masha'allah and all that but doesn't do 5 times prayers.
Hassen: Couldn't figure him out much yet. Desperate big time. Only pops up whenever we're talking of meeting, especially when women are involved. Never says hello when two or three guys are meeting. Promises and doesn't answer phones.
Shraddhay: Confused soul. Didn't what she was doing on QL. Guess it was more of an infatuation. No sooner she realised its a bore, she quit it.
NTN: New girl on the block. Show off. Knows Doha much better than she pretends. Likes to read all the dirt men post, but doesn't comment on it. Loses her head once in a while. Loves to fight with Ray.
Colt: New dude on the block. Pretends to be funny on QL, but isn't so funny in real life. His hindi sux, if you wanna say something bad about him, do it in hindi, it will go bouncers. Still couldn't figure out what 'Yadda' is. Regrets on getting married so soon.
Quddus: Don't know what he writes half of the time. He tries to be friendly with all, but his real intention is to get to Doha and get as much info about Doha from guys in here. But sounds like a good guy in real life.
SFD: He posted thinking it would be interesting in here. Wrote a few sher and shayari in here, didn't get much appreciation. Quickly realised he was at a wrong place and quit immediately.
LOL. Had fun writing it. Did I miss anyone??? I am open to ALL SORTS OF CRITICISM! But remember you will be writing against someone who has almost attained sainthood. So watch out!

Bro, further on handing over power to thread creator. Having some experience in kicking/banning people from chatrooms, I'd like to add my two cents here.
First, this isn't like IRC you know where you could go and register a channel (or a channel with chanserv) and own it all to yourself. There is a big difference between a thread creator/starter and an owner. My understanding from creation of a thread is that it was done so just cos you wanted views & discussion from different people on a certain topic. This need not necessarily mean that the thread starter is actually the owner!
In my opinion, there could be an alternate way of judging a thread owner, which is by identifying maximum number of posts from a single person in that thread. It simply signifies that this person has been more active over a period of time. It's very unfair if I create a thread, go into hibernation and then come back 5 weeks later claiming to be the owner of that thread! Yes, I do agree that we need a moderator to control on posts and newly created threads. As long as that moderator acts fair its fine, but the moment he/she starts abusing his powers then I think the purpose is not served.
In such cases, I can promise you from now itself that you will find everyone trying to hog power and limelight by created n number of threads and become the owner themselves.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't pointed at you at all, these are my immediate thought upon reading your previous post.

Thank you so much dude. I have the list of clinics approved by my employer, infact they had sent me the list of hospitals. I spoke to one of the doctor regarding the Medical checkup with a clean cheat. He said he will charge 1500INR, i said ok. So Inshallah the coming weekend I will do the medical formalities.
I belong to Parbhani Dist in Maharashtra, but currently I am in Bangalore.
My primary question was, if I did the medical in India before the visa process could get triggered, like in advance. So is their any problem of submitting a medical certificate of last month or 15 days back in regards of receiving date of offer letter?

In this part of the world ,anything is a possibilty .Usually they dont fuss over such things but u can never be sure here .A friend of our had a similar experience not in Qatar but Kuwait . I can just tell what he had done ,may be it ll help
Mostly the companies have registered clinic or a doctor in India for the medicals ,in case it is so pls check with your employer and you can get certificate about the stitches why ,when ,now all that by this doctor there .
In case your company doesnt have any,still get details of the surgery and certificate from your doctor etc.
I dont know where you are in India otherwise i could have given you name of clinics.
Interim solution... go in for the 2 bedroom tents they have at Carrefour... lol!!! at one point in time I was telling my wife the same thing, but luckily enuf we got this place... BTW, I still check with the landlord when he's gonna open the other apts, but he says it would another month or so... dun worry I'm looking out for you and Ray as well...
I had a 4 stitches on my below of the stomach it was a minor operation for Appendix, that's a very normal disease now a days. I am perfectly ok... I don’t have any pain or other disease too. In this case do I will get any problem while applying for RP? As you mentioned abut your friend experience. Hope not :-((

No the medicals are not accepted here. Some companies insist on you doing the medicals in you home country, just to be sure nothings wrong with you.
But once you come here, you havta do the meds all over again to get your RP. And trust me, these guys can be wierd when it comes to meds... I have a friend who had a small patch on his lung due to the jaundice he had as a kid and he was asked to leave... these guys din accept him even though he did a pvt. check up all over agian here at another hospital and it showed clear.

When is your family arriving ?All schools wld close by may end -june mid .I guess you are looking for admission in september .There are a lot of good primary schools.Shall send you the list .And more importantly you can send them all documents filled application , birth certificates etc thru mail you dont have to go there personally .

The cocktail party was so fookin boring I tell u... I could have sat there and counted the people that actually went for a 2nd helping of the delicious barbeque eats, if it wasn't for a gorgeous hotel staff that took my fancy... lol!!!... the food was good though and deserts even better... and that staff...BEST!!!
Got home by like 2200ish and dove straight into bed... that was my evening yesterday... a whole crocka crap!

QL has been playing up yet again. I have sort of figured out few things while surfing here. If you stay silent for a while the server logs you off after few minutes. And when you click on a link, the process of logging you back on again takes a lot of time. But once you are logged on, you may have noticed that you are able to open threads or post shorters messages quite quickly. Also, if you stay logged off, you automatically avoid the logging in procedure and that way surfing QL is much faster! Hope that makes some sense.
Well yeah we could always put it to another day. Not a necessity that she ought to be around whenever I meet you people. But then again, she reads a little here and we do speak a few things about QL and guys from here, so am sure she would be interested in joining me. Yeah man. Its high time my car got a wash. :( Feel really sad for her. Gulf weather is going crazy. I always listen to weather forecast on Bahrain radio 96.5 FM in the morning. They're always spot on. Today's forecast says light showers accompanied with thunderstorms at times. Look out for it.
Qatar meteorological dept. guys always be the wiseguy after the event and speak out next day in paper, "it is expected due to unstable weather in the region". I am like I could have put that better! Is your company will take care of their flight and visa expenses or you should have pay through your pocket? If applied for a Visa how many days it will take to process? In case, if you joined your organization as an individual, and company said that, they will provide you the family status, with thier Air ticket and all. Now if I want to call them all alone, does my company will take care of their tickets or do I need to pay?

Alright guys, as the subject says, the crown for this year's April fool goes out to none other than my good friend NEO!!! :)
His act of waiting 45 mins at the Ramada junction Pizza hut was a feat achieved by none I've known so far. Well done to Colt for playing along and in dragging Neo all the way to the Pizza Hut. Thank goodness we didn't ask him to carry a red rose to identify himself. Hehehehe.
Anyhow, all said and done, it was just YET another prank and it should be taken in right spirit. When Neo called me like 7th time in a row yesterday around 8.30 PM I had no choice but to answer his call. He seriously sounded pissed off, so I had to meet him and do the rescue effort before everything fell apart and he ended up cursing us all forever.
Eventually, we ended up at Bombay chowpatty and had a good time and a lots of laughs together. But dude, my question is "HOW COULD YOU FALL FOR IT???" Read my lines again, its very clear what it was all about.

I just can't get myself out of bed early mornings on friday/saturday. If not for Friday prayers, I would prolly be sleeping till 1 PM or something.

First of all I'm neither getting sentimental nor emotional.
What my true self only Allah knows. I believe everybody has a threshold for his/her patience. I remember one of best friend used to say "if u dare to finger someone, be patient to take hand in return".
Just read your post Han, and recall how many times you and ray told me not to act like dad, we're grownup. At the end, I ended up with giving up.
The only thing that really hurts me is I don't want my name to be associated with any other lady on/off the forum except my wife and because of that I shouted but no! people say you must have fun with this, now when I do the such thing in response, people cry, and post such a hard comments for me that again i accept with patience.
I know myself that I'm very calm person. I learn about myself from my friends and family because they are my mirror. I try to keep balance in my fun and religion. Yeah of course I can't go beyond the limits.
What I want to say is fun should have been in limits and remember fun is not the only thing in this life, we're accountable for our acts too to our Allah. When we will realize this thing, we won't hate people but their acts (if they are bad).
I would just end up my comments that just go through your comments you posted before and count how many times you ppl personally hit me and how many times i've hit you personally and how many times i reacted against such comments. You'll find a good judge of yourself.

Who's left?
On the other hand, I believe everyone is a good person at heart, few messages here and there created a lot of problems and differences. If ever we plan a get together, I suggest all to turn up please. Mind you, without any reservations, Neo will still have to come if I get Motiv8r along. I am quite sure we can sort out the differences when we meet up cos I sincerely believe everyone over here is a good & a beautiful person in real life. And then this thread will get back to life again :)

Quddus: Bro, I think it should be fine to import music CDs or DVDs as long as they're not porn or unsuitable for this region. They might also hold back stuff if its pirated material. But lately, if you're a lady or with family, the customs guys at Doha airport don't bother checking your luggage and generally let you thru without much fuss. You could almost get away with Hash, Grass or Acid strips if your with family! You know what I mean. ;)
Infact I recall when DJ Aqeel came for our show in November, he got me scared when he called me from Doha airport upon landing and asked if the customs guys would hold his CDs back for checking. The show was in the evening! Luckily that didn't happen for either of our shows. However, my friend who is into event management in Kuwait, he ran into problems when the customs guys held back DJ Akbar Sami's cds upon arrival at Kuwait airport. But Akbar Sami, a gem of a person that he is, quite unbelievably re-did a lot of his music within few hours and managed with few other borrowed CD's for his show.

As far as i know one can bring certain number of DVds with them if they are relocating ,its not a prob especially if you are travelling with family .If you are shipping the rest of your stuff then you can send dvds it with that ......
it will depend on clearance after they check for any banned movies or books ...
Everytime I travel to the far east, I get about 25-30 DVD's with me and never have had any probles... if you're carrying large amounts of DVD's please ensure it doesn't include any porn coz if they do a random check (which they seldom do), you don't want them to find it...
Also if at all they ask you why so many? tell them its for personal viewing.
I am not sure for QA, but for many companies, Visa Process for some countries become difficult (Including urs & mine) My Company received guidelines to hire From Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka & Nepal rather from two countries. One of my friends who selected for QP last month was rejected by Immigration department on the basis of same ground.

Just one thing that in Islam Not a person & a group of (Ordinary) person can decide for SAZA himself, Only Only the Qazi (MUTAQQI) of an Islamic state can give the decision of Sharii saza or to kill a person (Even a Mufti can't give the order to kill anyone) The reason is, The culprit has a right to speak & express his view and the Qazi is a person to Judge the case.

QL site has become so much of a lottery lately, one could never predict whether its gonna open a page or not. LOL. Or maybe its just at my workplace, but I don't really think so, cos all the other pages are loading quite fast, except for QL.

Getting back to you and Qatar, well tell you what, I am sure you're quite happy here in Qatar. Your posts say a lot about it, they're always cheerful and very rarely cribbing. So I can safely assume you are enjoying stay else you won't possibly have lasted 6 years in this place. That's another thing that so many newbies in Qatar (especially QR Crew) that I know of swear to leave Qatar within 6 months of arrival, but haven't seen any leave so far! LOL. And I can almost relate to what you are saying about distance relationship, I used to jet up and down a lot to Bombay for two of my ex's. Gosh that was ages ago!
Han: Sweetie, honestly I'm kinda lost in between those two F's you are talking about. It does neighbor a company with a V in it. LOL, confused? F's are not really neighbor's as far as I could remember. Moreover, you need a gatepass to know all that. And to make your quest more tricky, I don't even need to goto that deserted town, I am based in Doha :) Go figure!
Now the big question, why and how do you know about all those two F's and the one with P!??
Regarding confusions and misunderstandings, all I can say is 'been there done that'. I'm on forums / chats for like what? Almost 10 years now? Expressing yourself and thoughts in words isn't an easy task cos the other person doesn't see you and imagination takes control of what you're trying to say. A lot also depends on the mood the reader is in, if he/she has had a bad day, expect to get misunderstood!

Ray like I told you, I did sing for like 8 years in Bombay and may I add, I did lotsa shows for Amitabh, Juhi, Godrej, Singhania's, etc... all the creme de la creme of Bombay... (Oh BTW, my band also played for Aamir's Wedding), so I had the opportunity of meeting many of these folks in person... also I worked with Jet Airways back then, so I used to see them travel on late nite flights too... thats when you see the real them...

Touching base on the Ash topic... I'll go with Ray, I think she's too plastic and skinny... having met her in person lotsa times, she pads up well when required and I'm talkin thigh and butt pads too... Never liked her from day 1, although she is very intelligent and has an excellent command over English.

We seriously need moderators in here. Look at those duplicate threads and posts. Quite amazing. Yes QL's slow servers are partly responsible for it, but then again you know that when you've hit the POST button it will be posted for sure. Clicking it twice doesn't help, but results in multiple posts. I always keep a copy of my longer messages on notepad before I hit on post button.
I guess thats another reason for slow QL servers and QL getting boring lately. Moreover, our good friend cutesrk doesn't help by creating 5-6 new threads each day.

It never was about racial discrimination, but it was about the way your posts are put down. I didn't just paste that for the heck of it or I hated Asians! I did it because in my humble opinion that probably is ONE of MANY reasons why QL is getting boring, and I genuinely agree with it.
For instance, I rarely bother to read Hassen's posts, with due respect to his grammar and vocabulary, because it seriously doesn't make sense to me at times! My English isn't perfect either, but atleast I make an effort to put forward my posts in best possible manner for others to read & understand, at times entertaining too.
My brother sends me SMS/E-mail with all sorts of shortcuts and junk in it, most of the times I just can't make head or tail out of his sentences (if there are any!) The entire SMS/E-mail begins and ends in one sentence actually!

Woke up at 1:30pm today bcoz at 1:30am mornin reached house after 23rd March PEC show. Yest performed on de stage after a long time played 4 songs. I was remembering my elder daughter when KG class girls were performin Putli Tamasha.
Another sad thing is I couldn't check QL and Email yest coz quite bz in preparin for show. And today I found that I was selected for the Reward to have dinner by QL and it's too late :-(

although i agree with terramax's view, i still prefer to ignore terramax because of his continued attempts to drag asians in most of his posts.no personal issues there, becasue i do know that most of the times he does make very valid points on varied topics.
but then again we have lots of genius minds her on QL posting in various other threads who think they can play with words and come across as extremely intelligent while they prove quite the opposite.

Just dropped by to say hello to all. Hope all have had a very good week.
Personally have had a very hectic week (0700 to 2200hrs) almost daily, the highlight being a couple of lunches at the base with lots of Pork,...... had one of my colleagues to keep me company. Pork sausages, Porklion (like steak) with gravy, onion rings, surf & turf (beef Steak and crab with melted butter) bacon shavings, blue cheese sauce, Baskin robins ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, pecan pie ---- sound like a hog, but its has been a long time since I had company to go with me to do lunch there.
Have a good relaxed weekend and sit back with a six pack chilled beer and pakodas to watch the cricket this evening.
Has any one taken part in the Ramada quiz or watched the games on there wide screen????

for example: the year they passed a decree of 10% hike only...my landlady increased my rent by 50% and when we brought it to her atention she refused to acknowledge the rule..saying she hasnt heard of it at all and if we wish to stay we can stay with the hike or else leave.they know very well leaving isnt the option for most families.
this year that shaitan has only hiked it 10% because she knows she is getting her big chunk. she by her own real estate earns a million riyals a month.and she gets bukkad by the day.

The thing is that this is now considered a new contract, so the owner can fix the price he wants. Earlier, my contract was with Al-hajri real estate and not the owner...
As far as sharing accom goes, I know of a couple who have a 2 bedroom apt and have a paying guest with them. They charge him 2K for that furnished bedroom, but it's nera Muntaza, not airport area... single rooms or sharing are all within that range 2-2.5K or even 3K sometimes...

he refused to open his eyes...i can just imagine his state when he has to go to school. oh my poor baby is becoming big...i am going to have a major seperation anxiety attack.

Oh I forgot to mention about my rent... in brief... last year (Jan '06) I rented this really nice 1 bedroom apartment (new building) from this Real Estate - Al Hajri... for 3K/month... half way thru the RE guys had a problem with the owner and so the owner filed a court case and the court put up notices in the bldg, that any payments henceforth shud be paid to the court directly... My contract expired in Dec06 and so I paid the rent to the court.
Now the bldg is gone back to the owner (he won the case) and so he's making new contracts for everyone... last nite when I went to finalise the amount..... its 4.5K/month now....waaaaaaaa!!!! Oh apparantly the bldg belongs to the Emir's nephew... Shk Khalid Bin Hamad Al Thani...
4.5K for an u/f 1 bdroom apt is way too much... but I dun have a choice... I will be signing the cheques by the 26th Mar '07...

Three Sardarji's went for a tour to singapore . They searched for
rooms everywhere and finally got one which is in the topmost floor of
a 100 floor hotel. After taking rest they started for a local visit.
While leaving the hotel, the manager informed them that they should
reach the hotel before 10.00pm or else lift will not be available and
they have to take the steps for which they agreed and went out.
After all the entertainment in the city, they reached back late at
10.30. Since lift was not available, they decided to take the stairways
under the condition that each sardarji has to tell a story that lasts for
33 floors so that they can reach the 100th floor without much trouble.
After first sardarji finished his story in 33rd floor, the third
sardarji said," I have a sad story to say, but i will tell at the end
only". Then second sardarji finished his story and the third
finished his story and finally they reached the 100th floor. Then
first sardarji asked what was the sad story.The third one said, "
I forgot the room key which is on the manager's table".
They once again started back to the first floor and this time the
