I have been here in Doha for 2 ½ years and I am a dog lover from the US. I did not bring my boys here with me but since I arrived I have taken in two dogs that I have found wondering the streets. The first now he is a resident of Texas, and the 2nd well she will stay here with me till I head home. I have found that to the people here in Qatar do not find the same satisfaction in pets as you or I might. People here are not as fond of dogs as we may be and they are intimidated of even the smallest dog. Keep this in mind and keep your boy or girl on a leash until you find out how the people around you will react and you and you loved one will have a good time. Now keep in mind that it may cost more to get him home then It was to get here, I am not sure but you need to check.This is the second flat I have lived in and never did I ask for or felt I needed permission, from what I can tell as long as the rent is paid then you are golden. good luck
